Don't forget, Round Two of our casting calls begins tomorrow, July 28th and extends through Thursday the 29th! http://twitter.com/encore1creative2010/07/27
With a number of our bigger shows in the spotlight lately, I wanted to point out one of the key components to making these productions successful; the minutiae, and I don't just mean nice napkin rings, but awesome details. Here are a few examples:
Rubik's Cubes
When we were asked to plan a 80's Themed Special Event, our creative staff came up with the idea for these bright, glowing 2' Rubik's Cubes. These were designed and constructed by our own talented people, and required over one hundred individual stick-on pieces per cube, all of which were placed by hand.
Mad Hatter Hats
A local resort nightclub celebrated its second anniversary with an Alice in Wonderland themed party. Our decor included oversized playing cards, flowers and mushrooms, as well as a new items custom made for this event; including a clockface entry arch, a 5' birthday cake prop, and these hats, styled after The Mad Hatter. Our seamstress made several hats in a variety of colors, right here in our own sewing shop!
Tiffany Wedding
There's no mistaking the special color of blue that's synomymous with the elegance, taste and style of Tiffany & Co. Our designers came up with this stunning blue and white motif for a wedding in the Scottsdale community of Silverleaf, where we matched the table linens and chair covers of Tiffany's trademark blue, with centerpieces, florals and ceiling swags. Sparkling crystal tableware and shimmering gemstone accents pulled together all the elements of this lavish look.

In order to give the appearance that Grant Hill was in front of his Suns locker, we were tasked with creating a scale replica of the locker room. After drawing up the plans, which were based on photos, and purchasing the required materials, work commenced right away. Two of our talented staff members worked through the weekend, and by the time the client came in for a progress check on Monday, much of the work had been completed.
There was still the matter of some paint and finishing work to be done. As you'll see in the photographs, a faux finish was applied to give the appearance of cherry wood. Once the paint had dried, and the trim had been attached, the nameplates were then adhered. Always striving for authenticity, our graphics and print department carefully matched the coloring and lettering to the real nameplates. Lastly, lighting was installed.
The end result was something that we were all proud of, and that the client was very pleased with. This is just one example of how we can take your idea from concept to fruition, with a quick turnaround and stellar results. Do you need a one-of-a-kind prop or decor item? We have the means to make it happen!
In the early stages of planning an event, one of the first considerations in deciding upon event decor is coming up with a stunning entry way. This is key to making a great first impression, and setting the event's tone.
Often, our clients are in search of something which they haven't seen elsewhere, or are working with a theme that's unique to their corporate culture. We strive to accomodate these clients in bringing their vision to life, and that's where our custom design and fabrication services come into play.
The above image is from a recent event with a Boardwalk theme. The pier was created specifically for this event, based on the client's vision. No matter what the event, be it themed or traditional, we can come up with something spectacular for you, and at any budget.
Every now and then we get awfully lucky and one of our great clients calls upon us to help create an event that's fun, interesting, challenging and makes it all worthwhile (albeit a bit on the nervewracking side). At Encore Creative, any time a client needs a custom solution for a fun event, and is willing to let our team loose to find the answers to make an event a great one, the excitement starts to build. Everyone from our CAD designers to our fabricators, seamstresses and our tech team is challenged to come up with something that is "out of the box" and really fun despite all of the challenges. AZA Events is one of those clients….and their client, Honeywell is always up for something that involves their associates and families in an interactive and fun way. Below are a collection of videos (more to come, along with some great still photos) that just start to scratch the surface of the final phase of an event….the installation. Anyone in the industry, especially in Arizona knows that this is where the rubber meets the road. There is often a limited amount of time to achieve all of the "looks" and "effects", blistering daytime heat, absolutely NO rehearsal time (it has to be perfect the first time every time) and a host of unforeseen challenges. This is why Encore takes such great pride in its team members, from the salespeople (in this case Gary Walton) to the Operations Department (headed by Michael Saam), the Ops Manager (Georgia Varela-the best in the business) and the great crew…headed up by Todd Niklas and Chad Holland with a lot of help from seamstress Kirsten Gilbert, lighting tech, Skip Carbis and about 20 of Phoenix's best install team. Check out the videos…they're in no particular order and we'll bring you a slicker package in just a few more days
