5 Questions for the Team: Rikki Hernanskey

One of the newest members to the Encore! Creative team is Rikki Hernanskey. She brings over 15 years of wedding experience to the team and are glad to have her on board!

Encore! Creative: How long have you been in the Wedding industry?

Rikki: I’ve been in the wedding industry for over 15 years, starting with a stint of design in high school and then eventually opening up my own stationery design company after my first born. I’ve dabbled in every area and have kind of been the jack of all trades with my knowledge finally coming full circle and being put to great use here at Encore!

E!: What?s your favorite part of your job?

R: I LOVE seeing ideas that start off on paper or in theory coming to life. The results always exceed my expectations. I love clients who know who they are and I love watching the process of them discover their own creativity with a little guidance.

E!: What is your favorite non-work pastime?

R: I love spending time with my 3 favorite little people. My children make me laugh all the time and it is always an adventure no matter what we do whether we’re just watching a movie or venturing out on a road trip.

E!: What 2 trends are you seeing in weddings right now?

R: Right now I’m seeing A LOT of personality shining through in weddings. Brides & Grooms are paying homage to their upbringings whether its sharing a favorite treat from their childhoods (grandma’s cookies or nostaglic candy) to incorporating actual items they have saved throughout the years i.e. books, pictures, albums, etc. I’m also seeing a more natural approach for instance plants/flowers that are native to the area in which the wedding is taking place as well as fun candid portraits rather than the traditional group settings.

E!: What?s your favorite candy?

R: I have 2 – Heath Bars & Red Vines!

Welcome to the team Rikki!

Children’s First Academy Spend the Day with DHL

Children's Academy at DHL

Back in March we coordinated a community event for DHL during their national sales meeting, introducing them to the faculty and students of the Children’s First Academy in Downtown Phoenix. It’s an extraordinary place doing great things for homeless children by picking them to attend the school each day and offering special programs to help the kids be the best they can be.

Turnabout being fair play, DHL was hosting a customer appreciation event at their Scottsdale offices last week and decided to bring the kids from the Academy to them. This also gave them the chance to donate $10,000 to the Academy, which was raised by the employees of DHL.

Since we introduced them, DHL and Children’s First Academy have developed a great relationship. So much that DHL has adopted Children’s First Academy as one of their favorite charities!

As you can tell in the photos below, we got to decorate offices and meeting spaces to reflect the countries that DHL does business in. After we added our professional event production skills to the inside, we focused on the parking lot next to the building, assembling a great obstacle course for the kids (and young at heart!).

When DHL asked us to manage the entire event, we jumped at the chance! After all, this is what we have been doing for more than 30 years. Our event specialists were on-hand for the entire event, from setup to take down. Besides ensuring that everyone in attendance was having a great time and the offices looked perfect. We also were there to make sure that every portion of the event went off without a hitch!

We are always ready to produce your next event, big or small, no matter the occasion. Contact us today to get started!
